     NOTE:  ONLY APPOINTMENT ELIGIBLE FAMILY MEMBERS AS DEFINED BELOW OF U.S. GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEES ASSIGNED TO THE MISSION UNDER CHIEF OF MISSION AUTHORITY ARE ELIGIBLE FOR CONSIDERATION.  AN AEFM DOES NOT HAVE TO BE RESIDING IN COUNTRY TO BE CONSIDERED BUT SHOULD BE WITHIN A MONTH OF ARRIVING AT POST AND PHONE INTERVIEW IS AN OPTION FOR THOSE WHO HAVE NOT ARRIVED AT POST YET.

 

The U.S. Embassy Jakarta is seeking an Eligible Family Member (AEFM) for employment for up to 2 positions of WAE Roving Administrative Clerk in the Human Resources Office.

BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION:

On an as-needed basis, provide temporary office and functional coverage for American employees.  Perform short-term assistance for special projects or periods of increased work levels in any Mission office to which incumbent is assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

NOTE: All applicants must address each selection criterion detailed below with specific and comprehensive information supporting each item.

1.      At least High School Diploma is required.

2.      Six months to one year secretarial/clerical or customer service experience is required.

3.      Web Gram, Clout, Time/Attendance and other training as relevant to the section to which incumbent is assigned is required.

4.      Level 4 English (speaking, writing and reading) is required.

5.      Must be familiar with structure of the US Mission and responsibilities of individual offices.  Incumbent will need to know Embassy/Department of State security procedures (including handling classified materials).  Communications procedures and other basic office procedures.

6.      Must be quick learner able to adapt to a variety of office settings.  Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other computer programs used by US Mission.  Requires office management skills, i.e. work processing, filing, drafting correspondence, etc.  Strong organizational skills with the ability to schedule, make travel arrangements, and coordinate projects.

 

ADDITIONAL SELECTION CRITERIA

 

1.      Management will consider nepotism/conflict of interest, budget, and residency status in determining successful candidacy.

2.      Current employees serving a probationary period are not eligible to apply.

3.      Currently employed US Citizen EFMs who hold a Family Member Appointment (FMA) are ineligible to apply for advertised positions within the first 90 calendar days of their employment.

4.      Currently employed NORs hired under a Personal Services Agreement (PSA) are ineligible to apply for advertised positions within the first 90 calendar days of their employment unless currently hired into a position with a When Actually Employed (WAE) work schedule.

5.      The candidate must be able to obtain and retain a TS security clearance.
