The U.S. Embassy in Jakarta is seeking individuals for the position of L/Guards with position numbers C56-260; C56-509 in the Local Security Office (LSY).

BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION:

The Incumbent provides protection for U.S. Government employees, visitors and facilities and equipment from violent attacks, demonstrations, intruders and theft. Conducts inspections focusing on access control at all USG controlled/managed properties, facilities and residences administered by the Embassy. Responds and assist with routine and emergency occurrences at all USG controlled/managed properties to ensure that no situations exist which threaten the safety or security of Embassy employees or property.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

NOTE: All applicants must address each selection criterion detailed below with specific and comprehensive information supporting each item.

1. Completion of secondary high school is required.

2. Minimum one year (1) of previous military or police, or security related duties is required.

3. Level I (rudimentary) in speaking/reading/writing English and fluency in Bahasa is required.

4. Must be knowledgeable about physical security systems, deterrents, and radio communications.

5. Must have the ability to follow instructions and communicate effectively, must be reliable, dependable, firm, courteous and tactful.

6. Must be able to comprehend orders and directives quickly. Must have the ability to take clear and deceive action especially during emergency situations is required.
