The U.S. Embassy in Jakarta is seeking an individual for the position of Fraud Prevention Assistant in the Consular Section (Pos.No.C30104) 

BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION:

The incumbent will be the Fraud Prevention Assistant for the Consular Section. S/he a) will conduct fraud investigations related to nonimmigrant and immigrant visa cases as well as to passport and citizenship cases, b) organize Fraud Unit files, c) conduct research on fraud trends and on criminal organizations involved in producing/selling counterfeit documents, d) provide written and oral translations, and e) schedule Fraud interviews.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

NOTE: All applicants must address each selection criterion detailed below with specific and comprehensive information supporting each item.

1.      Completion of Secondary education is required.

 

2.      Three (3) to five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in work involving the application of regulatory material is required. Experience interacting with external customers is required. Experience working in an embassy visa section, conducting investigations or research is required. Prior international travel experience (personal or professional) is preferred.

 

3.      Level IV (fluent) in speaking/reading/writing both in English and Bahasa Indonesia is required.

 

4.      Must have excellent knowledge of basic principles of customer service and business correspondence. Must have a good working knowledge of investigative and interview techniques and be able to perform required fraud research.

 

5.      Must be comfortable working on PCs in a Windows environment and be proficient with Microsoft Office products, such as Excel, and internet.

 

6.       Must be comfortable working with external contacts, and capable of responding with courtesy under conditions of stress and duress. Must be an analytical thinker and be able to solicit information from strangers.
