U.S. Embassy Celebrates International Education Week in Jakarta
November 20 – U.S. Ambassador Cameron R. Hume (left), American-Indonesia Exchange Foundation (AMINEF) trustee Pia Alisjahbana (center), and Indonesian Defense Minister Juwono Sudarsono gathered at the Ambassador’s residence yesterday to mark International Education Week from November 17 to November 21. Ms. Alisjabana is a co-founder of AMINEF which administers the Fulbright program. Minister Sudarsono is among the many prominent Indonesian Fulbright alumni. This week highlights the benefits of international education and exchanges worldwide, and also acknowledges a new annual report by the International Institute of Education showing a five percent increase in the number of Indonesian students studying in the United States. Cisco and USAID-SENADA Launch Internship Program to Encourage Small Business to Adopt Information Technology
November 24 – Cisco, the information technology giant, and SENADA, a four-year USAID-funded project focusing on developing light manufacturing industries in Indonesia, launched a unique internship program today that encourages the adoption of Information Communication Technology (ICT) among small and medium enterprise (SMEs) in Indonesia to increase their competitiveness. U.S. Government Signs Agreement with the Indonesian Anti-Corruption Commission
November 18 – The Deputy Director from the U.S. Justice Department’s Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), John S. Pistole, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Chairman Antasari Azhar of the Komisi Pemberantasan Komisi (KPK) at KPK headquarters. The purpose of the MOU was to enhance and expand the U.S. Government’s growing cooperation with Indonesia’s law enforcement partners. (complete text)
